It’s a question we get asked every day here at The Hub, and sensibly so. Second only to security in your priorities (24/7 staff presence, CCTV and security fob access, just in case you were wondering), location is obviously a critical factor when choosing your London student accommodation.
So, just how convenient is The Hub for your London student accommodation?
Well, we’re in Central London, so nothing is that far away, and we’re right next door to Vauxhall’s train Underground and bus stations, which means that pretty much all of London is accessible to you within 30 minutes of travel. Not a fan of public transport? – don’t worry (though we might need to talk about this some time, it really is the best way to get around in London), just walk over Vauxhall Bridge and you’ll find yourself in London Victoria in under a mile. And let’s not forget London’s almost endless supply of Boris Bikes – there’s a docking station just 3 minutes walk from The Hub, on Kennington Lane Rail Bridge.
But we haven’t answered your first question yet, have we? Just how close is your University? Well, let’s take a look…
London student accommodation for City University students
Located in Northampton Square, City University is a short trip from the Hub via London’s famous Underground. Jump on the Victoria Line at Vauxhall, and then switch to the Northern Line at King’s Cross St. Pancras (7 stops away). Next stop is Angel, where you can jump off and make the short walk to the College. Time on tube is approximately 18 minutes, and it’s 30 minutes door to door.
London student accommodation for London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE) students
The most direct route to LSE will see you jumping on the number 87 bus from Vauxhall Bus Station, which will then whisk you straight to the LSE’s main campus – journey time of 25 minutes. If you’re in a rush, you can always get a mainline train from Vauxhall to Waterloo, and get on a bus at Waterloo pretty much any one will do, numbers 1, 59, 168, 171 and 188 all go straight to LSE’s door. This slightly more indirect route will shave valuable time off your journey, and will take you 22 mins.
London student accommodation for London Metropolitan University students
London Met’s main campus is ridiculously easy to get to for students staying at The Hub, requiring a direct journey from Vauxhall to Highbury and Islington on the Underground Victoria Line. Total journey time is just 26 minutes, with trains departing every two minutes.
London student accommodation for University College London students
Much like London Met’s journey, your commute to University College London couldn’t be much quicker or easier. Simply board the Victoria Line at Vauxhall, and 8 min (5 stops) later, step out at Warren Street and start your studies.
London student accommodation for University of Westminster students
A little bit fiddly, this one, as you have to change tube lines (we know, we know, what a headache!). On a serious note, the journey to the University of Westminster is a total breeze – simply jump on the Victoria Line, switch to the Jubilee line at Green Park and step off at Baker Street. Total journey time? A mere 22 minutes.
London student accommodation for London South Bank University students
Head South of the river, and your London student accommodation becomes even more convenient – simply board either the 360 bus from Vauxhall Bus Station (they depart every seven minutes), and arrive 16 minutes later at your destination. In fact, you’re so close, you can actually cycle it in less time – door to door in just 13 minutes (plus added health benefits).
London student accommodation for Kings College London (KCL) students
Speaking of cycling, residents at The Hub can bike to Kings College London in just 18 minutes. Failing that (you’re in England after all, so it’ll probably be raining), the number 87 bus will take you from Vauxhall to King College London in just 26 minutes, without getting your hair all fuzzy
London student accommodation for University of the Arts London (UAL) students
Any student of the UAL will know there are campuses spread out across the whole of London, all of which are easily accessible to residents of The Hub. Even the Wimbledon campus, which is a little out of town, is still only a 12 minute main line train journey from Vauxhall train station.
London student accommodation for Imperial College students
Time for another quick visit to Green Park on the Victoria Line, where you switch to the Piccadilly line and jump off at South Kensington (known as South Ken to locals). The whole journey to Imperial College shouldn’t take you more than 27 minutes from your student accommodation at The Hub.
So there you have it folks -unequivocal proof that no matter which University you’re attending in London, The Hub really is the only place you should be considering for your London student accommodation 😉
