As we all know the student life is made for experiments and this is by far the best experiment we have tried. I know what you’re thinking and trust me it will be the best meal you have ever made as a student! This is how we did it:

Course one – Ham and Cheese Omelette

This literally took 2 minutes, that’s faster than making them on a hob!

What you will need:

    • 1 large microwavable mug
    • 2 – 3 eggs
    • 1 Tbsp. of diced ham (I prefer bacon)
    • 1 Tbsp. of shredded cheese
    • Cooking spray/Olive oil (To lightly coat your mug so that the egg doesn’t stick)
    • Salt and Pepper

    Spring onion (Garnish – optional)

What to do:

  1. Lightly coat the mug with cooking spray/ Olive oil.
  2. Add the eggs to the mug and mix together with a fork.
  3. Add all the other ingredients and mix together.
  4. Place in the microwave on high for 1 minute. Take out and stir to break up any big chunks of egg.
  5. Place back into the microwave for another 40-60 seconds until the eggs have set.
  6. Garnish with a sprinkle of cheese, a little ham and spring onion.

Course Two – Mac and Cheese

Now this is the easiest tastiest mac and cheese I’ve ever tasted.

What you will need:

    • A large Microwavable Mug
    • Hand full of Macaroni
    • Pre-shredded mild cheese
    • 2 tbsp. of milk
    • A cup of water

What to do:

  1. Put the macaroni in a large mug with water (make sure the water covers all of the pasta)
  2. Place in the microwave on high for 8 minutes, make sure you pause the microwave at the 5 and 2 minute mark to stir through and add more water if necessary.
  3. Drain any excess water, add cheese and a dash of milk to the pasta and stir through (you can put the mug back in the microwave for the 30-60 seconds to melt the cheese).

Course Three – Chocolate Mug Cake

One of the world’s top desserts just got even better because now you can make it in a matter of minutes in the microwave!

What you will need:

    • A large Microwavable Mug
    • 4 tbsp. self-raising (SR) flour
    • 4 tbsp. caster sugar
    • 2 tbsp. cocoa powder
    • 1 medium egg
    • 3 tbsp. milk
    • 3 tbsp. vegetable/sunflower oil
    • A few drops vanilla or other essence (orange, peppermint etc.)

What to do:

  1. Add flour, sugar and cocoa powder together in the mug and mix together.
  2. Add the egg to the mixture – mix thoroughly.
  3. Then add all the other ingredients and mix together until smooth.
  4. Place the mug in the microwave on high for 4-5 minutes or until it has stopped rising and the cake is firm to touch (this means it’s done).

Now it’s time to taste your amazing creations…Enjoy!
