There is a new addition to the Olympic Park! Belgian artist, Carsten Holler has set up a pair of spiral slides outside the Hayward gallery as part of his 2015 exhibition. Promising to be the world’s longest and tallest slide, with tickets on sale now!
J.K Rowling brings to London the biggest staged event of 2016 “Harry Potter and the cursed child – Part 1 & 2” will undoubtedly be an epic staged play. Jack Thorne and John Tiffany is the eighth official Harry Potter adventure which will follow on from the adventures of both middle aged Harry and his son Albus as he starts his life at Hogwarts. Coming to London this summer!
Europe’s biggest street festival and second biggest street festival in the world (after Rio Carnival) will take place this summer on Sunday 28th August – Monday 29th August. Notting Hill carnival is a spectacular event representing London’s multicultural past and present. The celebrations include Caribbean street food, live music on steel band drums and a lot of Caribbean energy, this event is not one to be missed!
The 17th century masterpiece, which showcases the museum of art’s collection has been refurbished in preparation for the 400th anniversary of its commissioning and design. The Queens House will reopen on 4th July 2016.
One of London’s much loved festivals (as it involves food) takes place in Shoreditch, the food-focused party for this weekly night market features a revolving cast of traders. Street food and dishes prepared from all over the world are served from trucks and stalls. One festival we will definitely be attending this summer!
Trooping in Colour is a ceremonial event that takes place every year to mark the Birthday of The Queen. Even though her birthday is actually 21st April, it has been a long tradition to celebrate the Queen’s Sovereign birthday in the summer. The parade will take place on Saturday 11th June 2016 at Buckingham Palace.
