Which Rooms have a TV and do they come with a licence?

All rooms have a TV but you will need to purchase your own TV licence. Our communal area comes equipped with a large screen TV however, that requires no TV license.

Is there a supermarket nearby?

Tesco Vauxhall Express is 4-minute walk, and there is a little Waitrose just 3 minutes’ walk away

How far is the city centre?

The Hub is minutes away from Central London, which can easily be accessed by walking or public transport

Do I need to pay council tax?

No. If you are a full time student in the UK you do not have to pay council tax. You will however be required to provide a council tax exemption letter from your place of study which you will then send by post to the Lambeth Council tax department.

Is there a medical centre nearby?

Yes, Vauxhall Surgery on Jonathan St is just a 9-minute walk from The Hub

Is the Hub safe and secure?

Yes – here at The Hub we have 24-hour a day staff presence, CCTV covering all entrances and communal areas, and secure key fob access so we can keep track of everyone who comes and goes.

Is there always a member of staff available?

There is a member staff present 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on site. The Management Office is open between 8:00 – 17:00 Monday – Friday.

Am I allowed to have guests?

Yes. It is your home so you are allowed to have guests visiting you. Our policy is one guest can stay over for three consecutive nights per week and the tenant must use the guest sign in book held in reception.

Can I smoke in the accommodation?

No. Smoking is not permitted in any area within The Hub. You can smoke outside the accommodation in designated areas and in the courtyard during the day. The courtyard closes at 11pm until around 7am

Is there a curfew?
No. The secure access fob will allow you to enter and leave the accommodation whenever you wish.
How far are the bus and train services?

Bondway Bus Station and Vauxhall Train Station & tube are only a 3-minute walk away

Do you offer any other services?

There are a number of additional services that we offer through 3rd parties.

  • HPS: Specialist student cleaning company who offer a variety of different cleaning services, including weekly servicing and end of tenancy cleans.
  • Pinglocker: Operate a ‘concierge’ service in London, including guest beds, dry cleaning, storage, removals and airport transfers.
  • Unikitout: Offer a variety of different kitchen and bedding packs for students, along with  stationary and cleaning products. Packs can be ordered so it’s ready for when you arrive onsite to check in. Quote HOST17 to receive a 10% discount.
  • BA Airport Transfers: Book in advance your airport transfers to our London sites.
How do I connect to the internet?

You can connect via Wi-Fi or a Cat 5 patch cable – if you don’t have one, speak with Reception and they’ll be able to help.

How do I cancel a booking?

If you cancel your contract before the contract begins, or you want to cancel and move out early, you will be subject to our cancellation terms and charges.
